Krista McDivitt completed her Bachelor of Education in Arts Education at the University of Regina in 2011 and Professional Master’s in Education at Queen’s University in 2018. She has been teaching for seven years in both high school and elementary school. Her work in the classroom focuses on transformative, innovative learning. Her passion for innovative and authentic learning began early in her career and strengthened in her grad studies and collaborative work with Michael Slobodian. As a result of this, she authored the resource The Value of Authentic Writing: A Guide to Publishing Student Writing. Her co-presenter is Michael Slobodian. Michael has been teaching for seventeen years and is currently teaching in an innovative collaborative classroom with Krista McDivitt. Michael graduated from the University of Regina with a Bachelor of Education in Elementary Education and a Bachelor of Science in Biology from the University of Saskatchewan. His passion for transformative and innovative learning has been cultivated through his time overseas teaching in Taiwan and in Regina Public Schools. During this time he developed a passion for inquiry-learning, technology-integrated, education and creating authentic learning opportunities for all students.
