Climate change can resonate with every student, grade level and subject as it connects to our environment, economy, and society. This workshop will prepare you to return to your classroom Monday morning ready to explore climate change topics in a creative and meaningful way with hands-on, student-centred projects, and resources! Learn how to take your science lessons to the next level with a class-based citizen science project. These climate change projects emphasize personal action, engage students in local issues, and contribute meaningful data to a national citizen science database. You will also explore an energy efficiency and stewardship action kit - jam-packed with tools and activities to explore simple yet effective ways to conserve energy in your classroom, school and home. You will leave this session with a toolbox of lesson ideas and learning materials that will educate, engage and inspire your students to reduce their environmental footprint. Join us to explore how multiple balanced perspectives, critical thinking, and an experiential learning approach can energize your classroom! Div 2 - 4 and all subjects welcome.
